Over the last few months, I’ve taken Idunnohowmany photos of these trees, just below the top Hillside Dam and I’ve never really captured their size. So this time, I decided not to even bother, and just aim to show the tree how it appears when standing on the dam wall.
These two photos are taken about half way up a kopjie in the Matopos very near to Lumeni Falls.
People’s fields are laid out with contour ridges to stop erosion of the thin granite soils.
With the heavy rains, the water slowly seeps out of these hillslopes and the bigger rivers they feed, run year round. Matopos is a lovely place for trampers and serious climbers.
Also, sitting watching the proceedings…
Taken early in the morning with the sun shining on the white walls. I’ve done some work on this photo with Aurora HDR software.
(I love the little red car in the foreground!)
This egret looks confused. (As kids, we called them ‘tick birds’ because they are always to be found near grazing cattle.)
I took these two pics at Borrowdale Race Course in Harare recently. Its been raining and raining, here in Zimbabwe and the gallops are flooded.
Usually white, they all looked pretty grubby and no amount of cleaning (or hiding under his wing,) is going to help until it dries up some.
This is an HDR taken at the upper Hillside Dam – you can just see Ghost swimming (making the ripples on the left of the pic.)
Ghost loves the water – Ive never seen a GSD who loves swimming as much as this dog.
She loves chasing dragon flies too!
