All over the country there are what I call ‘natures gardens’ and Nswazi didnt fail me…this one (above) was right in between two homesteads. Reminded me of our home in Esigodini when I was a child – spent hours climbing.
I would love to steal this little bunch of rocks and resurrection plant (green from the recent rains) for my own garden. I photograph it instead.

Nswazi is a Communal Area near Mbalabala, south of Bulawayo. I took this photo late in the evening returning from surveying for water in that area…

Rural homes in the communal lands…comfortable, cheap and with a very small ‘carbon footprint.’
We did three borehole surveys in this area – lets hope we were successful – water can be very short here in the winter months and people walk for miles with buckets on their heads…
